DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Electronics and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for installing and calibrating a variety of equipment used in the monitoring, testing, and operation of the plant and related facilities. Installs, maintains, and calibrates a variety of specialized instrumentation and equipment used in the monitoring, testing, and operation of treatment plants and related facilities. Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies required for continued plant and facility operation. Prepares and reviews readings, logs, and reports for potential operational problems and responds to potential concerns. Performs preventative maintenance and repair on specialized instrumentation and equipment within plant property and at remote facilities and locations. Maintains appropriate records and reports regarding daily activities and maintenance and repair projects. Works with other plant staff, such as operators, process monitors, electricians, and mechanics to ensure equipment is operating properly. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Associates Degree in Information Technology or electronics and two years of process control or instrumentation repair experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above. Knowledge of electronics and instrumentation equipment used in process control; applicable safety principles and practices; basic mechanical and repair principles; preventative maintenance principles and practices used in process control equipment. Exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Special Requirements: Grade I Waste Water Treatment Operator License within one year of employment. Valid Driver’s License in good standing.
