Base Salary Range: $31.6356 -$38.2406/ Hourly $65,802.13 -$79,540.41/ Annually.

In addition a stipend of $10,000 – Annually (payable monthly) will be paid until a successor collective bargaining agreement is implemented.

 

POSITION: Under the general direction of the Water Pollution Control Authority Bureau Chief or designee, performs supervisory work in conjunction with the operation and maintenance of the Water Pollution Control Facility and collection system; may be assigned to work evenings, nights and weekends; does related work as directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited high school and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the operation of a waste water treatment plant.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a Class III Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate AND a valid Commercial Driver’s License. (Copy of certificate and CDL must be attached to application.) Selected candidates must pass a comprehensive medical examination as a condition of employment.

• Follows process control procedures for assigned areas; verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor.

• Performs routine lubrication of equipment and motors, and replaces oil reserves.

• Rigging and hoisting of equipment.

• Valid drivers license.

The City of Westbrook has an immediate opening for a Systems Operator II position in the Public Services, Waste Water Division.  Under direction, this position performs a variety of maintenance and construction tasks related to public works, particularly in the area of sanitary sewer collection systems; operators all trucks, which includes proficient operation of the “Flush-Vac” unit, skid steer loaders, front end loaders, rollers, compactors, snowplows and snow removal equipment, various types of light equipment and hand tools, as required.

Summary: Plans, evaluates and performs professional level engineering functions for projects related to municipally-owned wastewater treatment facilities (WWTFs), pumping stations and collections systems as assigned to the Planning, Protection and Assistance Section of the Wastewater Engineering Bureau.

Maintains a comprehensive database for wastewater infrastructure and operational data, housing critical information regarding the treatment equipment and capacity of treatment and collection systems in NH, to fulfill NHEOC data requirements, energy audit and asset management data needs.

The preferred candidate will have 2 years experience applicable to water/wastewater utility design, including construction and/or consulting preferred. Prefer 2 years in Asset Management. The preferred candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
