The NEWEA Collection Systems Committee is pleased to announce that Mr. Ted DeBoda, National Association of Sewer Service Companies, will be the keynote speaker for the NEWEA 2016 Collection Systems Conference & Exhibit that will take place on Monday, September 12 in Boxborough, MA. 
Ted DeBoda has 30 years of engineering experience in both the municipal and private sectors, and he currently serves as the Executive Directs of the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO). Much of his career has focused on pipeline assessment and rehabilitation. He has been a certified master trainer under nationally accepted NASSCO Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) since 2002. He has served on committees to update the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) Manuals of Practice, as well as NASSCO’s Infrastructure Assessment Committee to lead in development of MACP (for Manholes) and LACP (for Laterals). He was a founding member of the Chesapeake Water Environment Association’s (CWEA) Collection System Committee in 1999, and has served the association as President, Chair of the Collection System Committee (CSC), and currently serves as Delegate for the Water Environment Federation. He was inducted into CWEA’s Golden Manhole Society in 2002, and in 2014 was awarded the Water Environment Federation’s prestigious Arthur Sidney Bedell Award for his extraordinary personal service to a Member Association.
Prior to NASSCO, he worked for URS Corporation for 5 years, serving as Office Manager for their Baltimore office. Before that he worked as an engineer and manager for the New Castle County Department of Public Works for 15 years, serving on both the Operations and Engineering sides, first as Operations Manager ad later as Chief of Project Management and acting Manager of the Engineering and Environmental Compliance Division. He also served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and retired in 2005 from the Delaware Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Major. He earned his Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and is a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland and Delaware.
