We assist our clients with capital improvement plans, hydraulic modeling services, and implementing asset management programs while also undertaking study projects including Long Term CSO Control Plans, Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plans, Integrated Water Resource Management Plans, and Sewer System Evaluation Studies.   

What will you be doing?  
Project Managers guide our clients through all phases of the project beginning with the concept to construction completion including helping the client navigate funding options. As a Project Manager, you are responsible for client interactions, managing budgets, implementing project schedules for all multidisciplinary teams, and providing technical leadership and mentorship to project engineers and other staff. You will ensure adherence to Tighe & Bond’s standards of quality through the development of permit applications, drawings, specifications, opinions of cost, and reports.

What does a Project Manager need?  
Considerable years of consulting engineering experience and increasing responsibility in the water industry. A BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a related field. You will need a PE license, project management experience, and great technical skills. Project Managers are expected to be enthusiastic to learn, self-motivated, and have strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills. You will need to have strong leadership ability and a desire to manage and mentor others.

Job Description
Checks and verifies invoices, resolves discrepancies with vendors, and prepares schedules of invoices for payment. Prepares purchase orders, shipping orders, and transfer bills. Files and retrieves documents, manages the transfer of documents to archives and maintains current log of documents in storage. Assists residents over the telephone, and the office. Prepares correspondence. Performs other clerical and bookkeeping activities as required.

 

Essential Elements

Prepares purchase orders and requisitions for purchases and payments. Matches vendor invoices to purchase and shipping orders and receipts. Data enters information into computer. Investigates and resolves discrepancies. Responds to vendor and other inquiries. Maintains appropriate records. Files vendor invoices.
Assists the Streets management team in the preparation of purchase orders, requisitions, and transfer bills.
Answers resident and other inquiries for information via the telephone, or in-person at the office. Responds to citizen and other complaints, resolves problems or makes appropriate referrals for additional assistance.
Oversees the transfer of department documents to the archives and maintains a current log of archived files and documents, including their location. Retrieves files and documents from the archives as necessary.
Assists in maintaining office supplies inventory, initiates requisitions for items in low supply.
Performs special projects for the Director of Streets
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Job Description
Statement of Duties

Position provides laborer and equipment utilization functions for the department.  Responsibilities include operating heavy trucks and unskilled laborer’s tools  required for work projects, and ensuring for the safe and efficient operation of vehicles and machinery.

 

Supervision

Employee works under the general supervision of a Working Foreman.  Employee is familiar with the work routine and uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently, with specific instruction.  Any questionable cases are referred to the supervisor for clarification or interpretation.  The employee’s work  is reviewed only to an extent sufficient to keep the Working Foreman  aware of progress, and to insure that completed work and methods used are technically accurate and that instructions are being followed.

Employee does not exercise any supervisory responsibility.

Employee does not have access to any confidential information.

 

Job Environment

Position responsibilities require the use of judgment and initiative to interpret the numerous standardized practices, procedures, codes, or general instructions governing the work.  Employee is expected to locate, select, and apply the most pertinent practice, procedure, regulation, or guideline for a given situation.

Errors can result in personal injury/loss, delay or loss of service, damage to equipment or injury to others.

Position Functions

Essential Functions

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of medium and heavy duty motor equipment that requires a Commercial drivers License (CDL), including both standard and automatic drive trucks and motor equipment.
Drives trucks to haul materials, plows snow, operates sander and other vehicles as assigned.  Keeps logs of activities as required.
Ensures that all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
Performs a CDL circle check; lubricates, adds oil, inflates tires and otherwise services equipment to ensure proper operation; reports any malfunctions to supervisor, and may assist in making minor repairs and maintenance. Completes a Vehicle Condition report on a daily basis and may assist with repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
Performs laboring functions at work sites and construction projects.
All employees hired after 6/6/2005 will also perform traffic maintenance functions.
Participate in snow and ice removal operations and other emergencies as declared by the City.
Performs similar or related duties as required by the supervisor.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications

Physical and Mental Requirements

Employee works on loud to very loud construction sites and is exposed to outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, more than 2/3rd of the time; toxic or caustic chemicals, extremes of heat and cold up to 1/3rd of the time.  Employee is required to talk, listen, use hands, and reach with hands and arms more than 2/3rd of the time; stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.  Employee frequently lifts up to 60 lbs., occasionally lifts up to or more than 100 lbs.  Normal vision is required for this position.  Equipment operated includes trucks in excess of 26,001 lbs, pneumatic tools, and hand tools.

 

Education and Experience

A candidate for this position should have a High School Diploma or equivalent; one to three (1-3) years of experience in operating heavy trucks and equipment, or an equivalent combination of education or experience. A candidate for this position must  possess a valid Class B Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License. Class A preferred. A candidate for this position must have a valid Massachusetts Drivers License.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

A candidate for this position should have knowledge of:

Mechanical, hydraulic, and power train systems
Construction and/or landscaping methods and materials associated with the respective department
Truck driving and small equipment operating practices and procedures
Occupational safety precautions
Skill in:

Performing duties safely and efficiently
And the ability to:

Operate heavy trucks in a safe manner in accordance with department safety guidelines
Detect mechanical problems, maintain vehicle and equipment, and may assist in performing minor repairs

What will you be doing?  
As a Staff Engineer 2, you will play a key role in assisting a team of experts with the development of plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and bid packages. You will be involved in project discussions regarding technical approach, cost, and scheduling performance on traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build projects. You will also have the opportunity to observe construction on municipal infrastructure projects (sewer, storm drain, water, etc.) including identifying contractor conformance with design drawings and specifications, measurement of installed quantities, shop drawing review, coordination with city staff and residents, and preparation of daily reports.

Responsibilities

NOW HIRING skilled Maintenance Technicians at our Winchester, KY facility that possesses a strong skillset in hydraulics and robotics experience. We have openings for 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 schedule working either 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm. This position reports directly to our Maintenance Manager along with a shift lead technician.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in plastic injection molding and or hydraulics in a manufacturing setting as a maintenance technician preferred.
  • Preferred maintenance background to include hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, machining, welding, electrical and print reading with service history. Emphasis on hydraulics, hydraulic controls, components, and electronic devices to support injection molding machines.
  • Knowledgeable with the use of computers (MS Office Suite), CMMS Software, 5S and Lean methodology preferred.
  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field preferred.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shift on a 2/2/3 schedule from 7pm-7am.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Capable of troubleshooting and repairing various machinery, equipment, and facility structures to support the operations of the facility and the production process.
  • Troubleshooting includes large hydraulic pumps and valves powered by up to 1000 hp motors. Electrical ranges from 115V-480V and air compressors and valves to support molding machines. Hydraulic machine controls, troubleshooting hydraulic systems, and print familiarity keys to success.
  • Perform process troubleshooting to assist the production department with processing of quality parts in an injection molding setting. Understand machine controls, HMI interface, fanuc robot teach pendants, and injection molding processes.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment according to prescribed schedules and procedures.
  • Work on various equipment such as electric drive motors, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic systems, VFD controls, pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, and all safety related aspects to create a safe work environment.
  • Provide technical support in and on injection molding machines, auxiliary components, chiller functions, water systems, nitrogen systems, and safety controls to support production.
  • Provide leadership and training to technical associates within the facility when necessary.
  • Able to assist the department in developing improvement projects in support of a more predictive and preventative maintenance team.
  • Capable of performing welding, small fabrication, and designs to correct root cause failures when needed or assigned to drive downtime to acceptable levels.
  • Familiarity with the function of hydraulic injection molding machines from OEM vendors such as Engel, Kraus Mafia,
  • Milacron, Arburg and Fanuc robots.
  • Ability to read hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics and troubleshoot equipment performance.
  • Able to work in a team setting, self-motivated, productive without direct supervision.

The City of South Portland is currently seeking a full time Engineering Division Manager to join our team. We are seeking a steady individual with solid technical and communication skills to work for the Director of the Water Resource Protection Department.  This position also provides assistance to the Public Works staff.

Position Summary: This is a professional/technical management position responsible for providing engineering services to the Water Resource Protection Department and Public Works Department.  The Engineering Division Manager will be fully competent in all conventional aspects of wastewater and civil/transportation engineering. Position requires use of practical and advanced engineering techniques, and the modification and extension of theories and practices of engineering, related sciences and disciplines. Duties include a wide variety of engineering services including our wastewater treatment facility and pump station upgrades or modifications; responsible for CSO Facility Plan; lead on Asset Management Program; oversee design and construction of roads and utilities; manage engineering consultants; support staff with operations-maintenance-improvements; perform construction administration on construction projects as well as interface with government agencies, including the Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Transportation.

Work is performed with considerable discretion, initiative, and independent judgment under the guidance and general supervision of the Director of Water Resource Protection. Work is reviewed through informal discussions, periodic feedback sessions, evaluations, and general observation of work performance and/or results obtained.  Leads the Engineering Division and exercises supervision over the Civil/ Transportation Engineer and the Senior CAD Technician, with functional supervision of some duties of the Field Inspector (a primarily Code Enforcement employee).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering required, with an emphasis on Civil Engineering including wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, collection systems and roads highly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience, including some supervisory experience. Advanced skills in technical disciplines, including use of REVIT and Civil 3D in design applications, preferred.

Professional Engineering License in the State of Maine is required. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Maine driver’s license throughout employment.
