Reel Fun Fishing Day

Come join MWRA for a day of FREE fishing and fun at Deer Island on Saturday June 3rd.  NEWEA’s Youth Education Committee will have a table with kits for the kids to enjoy.

• Learn how to fish for and identify striped bass and winter flounder with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (Rods and other supplies provided)
• Meet National Park Service Rangers and be sworn in as an *official* Boston Harbor Islands Junior Ranger
• Play games, color, and learn “what not to flush” from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA)
• Learn about Boston Harbor’s biodiversity and meet *real crabs* with Save the Harbor/Save the Bay
• Enjoy a picnic with a view, either homemade or from a food truck on site
• Explore the trails of Deer Island on your own
• Discover other exciting Boston Harbor Islands Anniversary events coming this season!
