WOBURN, MA: New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA) has made recent staff changes, welcoming Jordan Gosselin as Communications/PR Coordinator and promoting Janice Moran to Program Director.
Prior to her promotion to Program Director, Moran worked for nearly 20 years with NEWEA, joining as the Information/Education Program Coordinator in 1999 and shifting to the role of Program Coordinator in 2014. Moran, who has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and started her career as a Junior Engineering Aide with Massachusetts Water Resource Authority, began her new responsibilities as Director in October.
“I’m excited to continue my career at NEWEA and am looking forward to working closer with NEWEA’s technical committees,” said Moran.
Gosselin, who has a Bachelor of Arts in English, Writing, and Literature from Emmanuel College, joins NEWEA following two years in digital marketing for a global media monitoring and analysis company. In her new role, Gosselin will develop and implement an integrated communications plan to support and expand upon the work of NEWEA’s staff, volunteers, and members.
“I’m so excited to join NEWEA as the first Communications/PR Coordinator,” said Gosselin. “I have the opportunity to build on a foundation of excellence and introduce new initiatives, including growing fundraising efforts, organizational awareness, and our network of members and partners.”
These changes will allow NEWEA to better serve their members, who number more than 2,000, through education and training, public awareness, legislative advocacy, and innovation, as well as enabling them to provide more support to the broader community of water professionals and supporters in New England.
Mary Barry, Executive Director of NEWEA, commented, “The promotion of Janice to Program Director recognizes her nearly 20 years of experience, commitment, and dedication to the NEWEA Programs, and the addition of Jordan as our first Communications Coordinator will support the association’s goal to better recognize and publicize the hard work and successes achieved by all NEWEA members.”
