Alert : New Scam Targeting AssociationsFBI

WEF would like to alert you to a scam that is now targeting associations. At this time, WEF knows of four Member Associations (MA) that have received an email that looks like it is coming from their President’s email requesting money be wired. Unfortunately, one MA thought it was legitimate and followed through with a wire transfer. The FBI and the bank told them that Associations are being targeted. Scammers can find your President and Treasurers information on the MA website. Please be aware of this and take extra steps to vet requests of this nature with your MA board before moving forward.

Event Recap : Poo & Brew #4 – Stratford, CT

Stamford, CT WWTF

Stamford, CT WWTF

The Poo & Brew events are quite literally named for the activities of the event. Young consulting engineers, operators and other industry professionals get together for a bit of poo, tour a wastewater facility, and follow that up with some brews, and often a tour of a local microbrewery. This event series is a great opportunity to meet others in the organization, learn about facilities across the region and support the growing microbrew industry.

The NEWEA Young Professional’s Poo & Brew #4 event was held on Thursday June 30th in Stratford, Connecticut and brought together professionals of all ages. The event started with a tour of the Stratford, CT Wastewater Treatment Facility and was topped off with an informal gathering at the Two Roads Brewery. Read More >>
