Seeking Nominations for Two New Awards – Biosolids & Committee Service

The NEWEA Executive Committee has approved two new awards (Biosolids Management and Committee Service) recommended by the Awards Committee.  Due to our fast approaching awards luncheon at the Annual Conference in January 2015, we are seeking nominations by Thursday, October 30. This will allow us to present these two new awards along with the established NEWEA awards in January.

Do you know an outstanding water quality professional that is deserving of recognition?  Please consider nominating a worthy candidate for these two new awards.

Biosolids Management Award – recognizes and honors individuals, groups, engineering firms, specific projects, municipalities, or a specific facility whether municipal or industrial for their outstanding contributions/accomplishments in the field of biosolids technology and management within the New England States, and demonstrating a sustained commitment to biosolids utilization.

Committee Service Award – recognizes and honors individuals or groups for their outstanding contributions specifically to active NEWEA Committees. Relevant contributions depend on the committee and nominees’ role and may consist of supporting ongoing activities events, programs, publications or the overall mission of NEWEA.  This award is intended to recognize an individual or group who has played a significant long-standing support role in one or more NEWEA Committees but whose contributions do not fit the criteria for other existing awards.

Please take a moment to consider a person or project worthy of recognition.

To propose a nominee for consideration, please complete the NEWEA award nomination form and submit online by 4PM on October 30, 2014.  Self nominations are encouraged.

If you have any questions regarding the new awards or the awards process, please contact the Awards Committee Chair Chuck Applebeeor Vice Chair Janine Burke.
