Member Profile: John Adie, City of Nashua WWTF

NHWPCA President, John Adie was sought out by the NEWEA Senior Management Team for his leadership, knowledge and dedication to the wastewater industry to lead the New England Wastewater/Water Utility Council as committee chair.

John AdieAt the 2010 NEWEA Strategic Planning session, the development of a New England Wastewater/Water Utility Council was discussed and outlined.  John Adie was sought out by the Sr. Management Team for his leadership, knowledge and dedication to the wastewater industry and was named Committee Chair. Under his leadership, the committee has gained strength in numbers. A large utility “council” has greater impact when talking to regulators and your local politicians than a single entity does. He incorporated a sharing of knowledge and ideas and helped the council to flourish.

John Adie is the current president of the New Hampshire Water Pollution Control Association (NHWPCA) and strives to ensure the idealism, spirit and body of the organization continues. He has campaigned all year long to promote a name change to New Hampshire Water Environment Association (NHWEA). “This name change will align the New Hampshire organization with industry professionals and allow a greater means for us to get the word out about who we are and what we do.” John has worked at the Nashua Wastewater Treatment Facility for over 25 years and when he is not busy running the operations of the 15 MGD facility, the 2nd largest plant in New Hampshire, he loves spending time with his family and traveling to Walt Disney World.
