The New England Stormwater Collaborative continues its efforts to identify the best stormwater work in New England. This year we are modifying our award program to identify simple, imaginative, unique and inventive stormwater ideas in three categories:
- Stormwater Management/Green Infrastructure
- Political Support/ Funding/Outreach
- Program Efficiency/Technology
Tell us how your community or business is improving our region’s ability to deliver stormwater management services in one of these three categories and you could win a 2017 – Stormy Award!
- The best ideas submitted will be featured on the Collaborative’s webpage and in our organization’s publications.
- The Top Three Ideas will be featured in a special awards session at the 2018 New England Water Works Association – Spring Meeting on April 4th or 5th.
- The Top Three Idea winners will receive complimentary registration to the conference.
Ideas will be judged based on ingenuity, transferability and how effectively the idea has helped manage stormwater, increase public support, create program efficiency or leverage a unique technology.
The competition is open to all clever ideas from EPA Region 1 and no idea is too big or too small. If you’re not sure that your idea qualifies, or if you can’t come to the award session, please submit your idea so we can share them with others looking for creative solutions.

The submission form is short and easy to fill out and submitters do not have to write a paper, but winners will be invited to give a short presentation at the award session in April 2018. The submission period is open until January 17, 2018. Winners will be announced in February 2018.

Who Are We?
The New England Stormwater Collaborative was formed by NEWWA, NEWEA, and New England Chapter of the APWA in 2013 with the objectives of EDUCATION, UNDERSTANDING, and ACTION.
The Collaborative is also seeking interested partners to participate on the judging panel. We will be seeking up to three outside participants to sit with the 9-person committee to review “Best Idea” submissions. The New England Stormwater Collaborative reserves the right not to publicize ideas that are inappropriate, inaccurate, or overly promotional and has final judgment over what is reviewed.
