NEWEA Wastewater Presentations
Grades 4-8
The “How We Use Water and How Wastewater is Treated” presentation runs 40-50 minutes and teaches the concepts of how human beings are part of the water cycle, what wastewater is, and that the water we’ve used has to be “cleaned” before being returned to the environment. This presentation includes a detailed segment describing each component of the typical wastewater treatment process.

Grades 4-5
A simplified version of the “How We Use Water” presentation runs 30-40 minutes and teaches the concepts of how human beings are part of the water cycle, what wastewater is, and that the water we’ve used has to be “cleaned” before being returned to the environment. This presentation does not go into detail about the technical aspects of wastewater treatment.
