Northeast Residuals & Biosolids Conference
October 16-18, 2019 · Sheraton Hotel, Springfield, MA
This NEWEA/NEBRA conference and exhibit is a great forum to learn the latest trends in the management of biosolids and residuals, and it is a “must” for all those involved in the challenge of managing biosolids and residuals in the Northeast.
Challenges have mounted, and perspectives are changing. What solids management practices will be most sustainable? New England, more than any other region, has robust operations serving The Three Options. This conference will take a step back, look at Part 503 at age 26, and peer forward at where solids management may be headed given the need to define and create sustainability within the local context of social, political, and regulatory uncertainties (e.g. PFAS, disinfection, molybdenum, Class B vs. Class A) and the global context (e.g. climate change, phosphorus, life cycle analysis). The conference will examine these topics as they pertain to managers, engineers, treatment plant operators, researchers, consultants and regulators alike.
Abstracts are currently being accepted on the following topics:
• Land application
• Odors and impacts on end use
• Biosolids quality
• Class A v. Class B
• Life cycle analysis
• Phosphorus management
• Class A disinfection concerns
