Wastewater Treatment Course offered in Northampton, MA @ Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School

The Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in Northampton, MA will be offering an Adult Education Course on Wastewater Treatment…

Prepare to take the Massachusetts Municipal Wastewater Grade 1-4 Certification Exam. This course will provide an overview of the basic steps taken in treating wastewater such as preliminary, primary, biological and tertiary treatment. It will also cover functions of equipment and support systems as well as environmental responsibilities required to safely and properly operate a wastewater treatment facility. We will visit a local wastewater treatment plant and meet individuals within the wastewater industry.

Textbook Requirement: Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants Volume 1, 7th or latest edition ISBN: 978-1-59371-039-2

This series of 10 classes is being taught by Bob McDonald, Superintendent of Montague Sewer District.

Time: Tuesdays, 6 – 8:30 pm, February 27 – May 8 (no class April 17)

Fee: $35.00 per person/lift ticket required $15.00 per person/no lift ticket required
Includes: Lunch buffet, 1 apres ski beverage ticket and after skiing hors d’oeuvres.
