The NEWEA Water Reuse Committee is pleased to present a conference on Friday, August 10th, highlighting successful water resuse projects in the northeast and the evolving regulatory environment relating to reuse. This one-day conference will include a tour of New England’s largest water reuse facility at the University of Connecticut’s campus in Storrs.

NEWEA invites you to join us for an evening reception during WEFTEC18 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

NEWEA is continuing its long history of hosting an evening reception of cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres at The Chicory, an elegant and intimate venue featuring exposed beams, brick walls, and gas lanterns.  It is located at 610 South Peters Street, part of the historic warehouse district and a short walk from the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

NEWEA: CSO Webinar – Public Notification of CSO Activation

The NEWEA CSO/Wet Weather Committee is sponsoring a webinar to assist CSO communities in understanding these requirements, assessing possible impacts, and provide a variety of strategies for designing their own CSO notification programs. Our speakers will provide background information on current and proposed requirements in New England and nationally (including potential legislation in Massachusetts) and outline some key legal issues and practical challenges to consider, including immediate reporting and metering accuracy, public education of what the data means, potential liabilities and public perception, and potential erroneous report impacts. The webinar will also lay out examples of successful CSO notification programs that have been put in place in New England and elsewhere. View Flyer >>

NEWEA/EPA Effective Utility Management Workshop

Join NEWEA and EPA for a one-day Effective Utility Management Workshop on Thursday, June 9th in Framingham, MA. View Flyer >>

This workshop will help utilities address a full range of challenges and move toward sustainable management of their operations and infrastructure.

  • Conduct the EUM Self-Assessment the results from which participants can use to spark and support further dialog within their utility about areas for potential improvement and further use of the EUM framework.
  • Equip participants to create an internal team and utilize the EUM framework to assess utility conditions and create a plan for improving.
  • Create an opportunity to learn from utility peers about their challenges, successes, and plans for improving in the future.

Utilities will learn how to make improvements in the Ten Attributes and Five Keys to Management Success, at a pace consistent with their most pressing challenges.

COVID Policy:  Due to the rapidly changing COVID guidelines, precautions will be determined as we get closer to the event.  Precautions may include vaccines, 48 hour negative test, and/or masks. Individuals who are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms; have a pending COVID test; and/or have tested positive for COVID in the last 14 days must refrain from attending the in-person event. Despite protocols, there is still an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present.

Cancellation policy: Request for cancellation/refund must be submitted IN WRITING prior to the event. A 25% cancellation fee will be applied for cancellation/refund requests received prior to June 3rd. No refunds will be issued for cancellations requested after June 3, 2022. Due to Association agreements and guarantees, fees are forfeited if you are not able to attend the Conference.
