NEWEA Member: Kerry Reed, P.E.

Presently Employed With: Stormwater Engineer, Town of Framingham, MA

What do you find most rewarding about your current position? Feeling like my work has an immediate impact on the community. I especially enjoy public education opportunities to teach folks about stormwater.

How long have you been a member and what are your favorite aspects of NEWEA? About 4 years. I enjoy the conversations. Love going from very technical, work-related topics to personal conversations about updates on families & vacation plans.

What Committees are you involved in? Registration & Stormwater

Do you have any advice for young professionals in the Water and Environmental Field? You chose a good field. It’s fun and always evolving. There’s always a new challenge. Stay involved in professional organizations, like NEWEA, to keep up.

How do you like to spend your leisure time? What leisure time? Most of my free time is spent ushering my munchkins (Lucas, 8, and Grayson, 5) between activities and cheering them on from the sidelines. On Sundays, I can usually be found on the couch watching the Patriots. In the rare moments I get some me time, I’m usually crafting or catching up on bad tv.

Misc. I’m a proud Army veteran.

Thanks for all you contribute Kerry and being an outstanding member of the NEWEA community!
