Non-Environmental Major Scholarship
One $600 award will be made to an undergraduate (non-environmental related major) applicant. The scholarship winner will be honored at the awards banquet held during the NEWEA Annual Conference in January in Boston, MA.
The award is based on understanding of the essay, written communication skills, demonstrated interest and participation in extracurricular activities, and academic performance. NEWEA’s objective is to encourage and to provide incentive for capable and motivated individuals to continue their studies with the knowledge and perspective that any field of study can relate to environmental protection and NEWEA’s work. If an applicant does not complete the current requirements of the approved program in 2016-2017 academic year (including Summer 2017), or drops out of the program for more than one semester term (except for reasons beyond the control of the student, such as call-up to active military duty), all amounts paid by NEWEA must be refunded within 30 days of withdrawing from the program or within thirty days of the beginning of the second semester in which classes are not taken, whichever date is earlier.
NEWEA must receive the entire Scholarship Application Packet, including the Letter of Recommendation, NO LATER THAN 3:00 pm, Friday, November 25, 2016.
