This new session, Operator's Gizmos and Gadgets was developed by NEWEA's Plant Operations and Program Committees and has been designed specifically for operators to share some of their creative ideas and innovations (not designed by engineers or manufactured by vendors) that may be of value to other NEWEA operators.

Submit your presentation ideas by August 13, 2010.

Some possible presentation topics include tools, equipment, ideas and methods developed by operators to:

• Assist with Maintenance
• Assist with Sampling
• Avoid Expenditures for Costly Specialty Equipment/Supplies
• Reduce Labor Cost
• Reduce Physical Exertion
• Improve Safety
• Improve Process or Equipment Performance/Efficiency
• Reduce Chemical or Electrical Costs

Presentation Format and Assistance
Each presentation will be 20 minutes (10-15 minute presentation with 5-10 minutes of questions and answers/discussion). The presentation should be informal discussions of the ideas or the items with appropriate handouts or visual aids (objects), overheads or computer generated presentations (if desired). Computer generated presentations are NOT required.

Also please note that the NEWEA Plant Operations Committee will provide presentation coaching and assist in the development of the presentations if requested.

Submittal Requirements
Simply email, fax or submit on-line the following information:

• Name
• Employer
• Employer Address
• Phone/Fax Number
• Email (if available)
• Presentation Title
• Description - one paragraph describing the presentation idea. Inclusion of a photo is suggested, if applicable
• Request for presentation coaching and development assistance (if applicable)

Submissions are due by Friday, August 13, 2010 and should be submitted on-line or emailed (mail@newea.org) or faxed (781-939-0907) to the NEWEA Office with the subject heading "NEWEA 2011 AC Gizmos and Gadgets Presentations Submittal".
