The articles posted in the NEWEA blog are largely provided by guest bloggers. These terms and conditions apply to all authors and submissions:
Purpose
The purpose of the NEWEA Blog is to establish a creative networking environment by which NEWEA members and other interested parties can share knowledge and opinions related to the industry, technologies, trends and other personal and professional pursuits.
Bloggers
Articles and suggestions for ideas and/or bloggers may be submitted through the Article Submission Form. Additional articles are directly requested from NEWEA members, board members, committee chairs, or others outside the organization whose contributions may be of interest to the NEWEA membership.
Comments
Anyone registered user may contribute to the discussion by submitting comments in response to each article. A comment must be relevant to the specific post to which it addresses. Spam, defamation, personal attacks, disclosure of trade secrets, and off-topic comments are not permitted. NEWEA and the Website Committee reserve the right to reject or remove inappropriate comments. Users agree to defend, indemnify and hold NEWEA harmless from and against any claims, losses or liabilities based on a violation of any posted comments.
Blog Format
- Blog articles are intended to be a candid, informal look into the most compelling issues facing our industry today. They serve as both a catalyst for sharing ideas within our organization and a link between our industry and the outside world. Be creative, have fun, but be sure to address the topic thoughtfully and accurately.
- The author is responsible for all content. Check facts, cite sources, and check spelling and grammar before submitting. This includes your name and role with NEWEA.
- Advertisements, sponsorships, or other commercial materials are strictly prohibited. Be authentic and truthful. Write what you know. Do not spread gossip, hearsay, or assumptions.
- If you make an error while blogging, acknowledge and promptly correct it.
- Add value and strive to be interesting by providing worthwhile information and perspective.
Submitting Articles
All article submittals will be approved prior to posting. Blogs should be submitted to the NEWEA office using the Article Submission Form. NEWEA reserves the right to decline publication of any article, post, or comment deemed to be inappropriate. All content submitted will become the property of NEWEA. However, the blogger/author will remain the author of record. There is no compensation or revenue sharing offered or implied by NEWEA to guest bloggers.
Personal Liability
As a blogger for NEWEA, you are accepting a level of personal responsibility. Use good judgment and act professionally. A Blog or community post is visible to the entire world. Remember that what you write will be public for a long time – be respectful to NEWEA, employees, clients, corporate sponsors and competitors, and protect your privacy. Please cite sources and check facts for accuracy. Check spelling and grammar as well before submitting. Respect your audience and don’t use obscenities, personal insults, ethnic slurs or other disparaging language to express yourself.
