Keynote Speaker

Gloversville-Johnstown: Systematic Approach for a Net-Zero Facility

Mr. George Bevington, Gerhardt LLC will discuss a ten-year journey by a medium size wastewater facility to go from energy dependence to energy independence.  Energy efficiency measures, facility upgrades, and operational changes evolved during this time period to reach this goal.  In the process, a strong relationship was created between a new wastewater customer creating jobs for the area and an agricultural demand for product from the Northeast. Wastewater treatment facilities should be viewed as an important asset in economic development, and can approach energy neutrality in the process.
