An important aspect of young professional’s development in the water/wastewater (or any field for that matter) is to learn from more seasoned professionals. There is no better way to participate in this learning experience than by participating in the NEWEA Mentoring Day, offered on Tuesday, January 24 during the 2012 Annual Conference in Boston, MA.
The NEWEA Membership and Young Professionals Committees have coordinated a program in which experienced NEWEA professionals are matched up with younger, newer NEWEA conference participants in a structured program that will benefit both parties. This New Member/Young Professionals Mentor/Mentee Program will take place on Tuesday, January 24th of the 2012 Annual Conference. New Members and Young Professionals new to the water resouces field will have the opportunity to be guided by their mentor around the exhibit hall, to share their mutual work experiences, to meet other Professionals in the water/wastewater field, and to learn more about NEWEA and how to maximize the many benefits of being a NEWEA member.
The day will culminate with a reception in the Young Professionals lounge in which the mentees can meet each other and other mentors and learn about the vast opportunities there are in NEWEA.
For mentors and other veteran NEWEA members, please stop by the Young Professionals lounge throughout your Tuesday as you may be able to contribute to development of Young Professionals in the industry.
