Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers

The Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers (5S) was established in Arizona in October of 1940 to recognize individuals who contribute in some outstanding measure to the activities and betterment of the Member Association.  There are now members all over the United States and Canada, all of whom have been "selected" on the basis of merit, and inducted, initiated and integrated into the Society.   Check out the 5S Member Roster.

Scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2012 from 12:00 NOON - 2:00 PM at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel.  Register by January 6.

5S Nominations

If you would like to nominate an individual for induction, please use the Online Nomination Form or the PDF form below and be sure to include a brief justification for each nominee. Please return nomination forms no later than January 6, 2012. Verbal nominations will NOT be accepted.  Selection of candidates for induction will be based on a majority of ballots cast by those in attendance. Open to 5S members.

As in the past, candidates will be selected for induction in the Society during the Spring Conference. The 2012 Spring Meeting is scheduled for June 3-6, 2012 at the Newport Marriott, Newport, Rhode Island.

Deadlines and Fees:
Registration forms must be submitted by January 6, 2012 to receive the pre-registration rate ($35/ticket).  Forms received after January 6 will automatically be charged the on-site rate ($45/ticket). If you need a special menu, please contact NEWEA at 781-939-0908.

Please note that due to advance guarentees and space restraints, onsite reservations MAY NOT be accepted.

Cancellations:
Cancellations must be submitted in writing by January 6, 2012.  Due to Association agreements and guarantees, fees are forfeited if you are not able to attend the luncheon.
