Compete in NEWEA’s Student Design Competition

Calling all Undergraduate and Graduate students! Are you completing a capstone project?  Consider participating in NEWEA’s 2nd Annual Student Design Competition (SDC).

lakestudentsThe SDC promotes “real world” design experience for students interested in water engineering and sciences. The Student Design Competition (SDC) is based on problems relating to the environmental field. Student design teams will compete in one of two categories:

  • Wastewater Design (e.g. hydraulic capacity design, upgrades to existing systems, biosolids handling, etc.)
  • Environmental Design (e.g. sustainability, water reuse, wetlands construction, etc.)

Students are expected to work together as a team to recommend a solution with little assistance from an advisor/professor. The competition will consist of a written report and final presentation. View the guidelines here >>

The first place winners in the Wastewater Design and the Environmental Design categories will receive the Jeanette Brown Scholarship ($1000) and travel allowance to compete at the WEFTEC Student Design Competition in September 2017 in New Orleans, LA.  There is no fee to participate.
